Other then teeth whitening, what other dental work is considered cosmetic, and cannot be deducted?
Last year, I had over $6,000 in dental work done, and my husband had around $4,000. We had no insurance and all of it was out of pocket. I know I cannot claim the whitening, but is there anything else that I should not claim? Normal services, extractions, fillings, xrays, stitches, partials, and a bridge were completed. The fillings are the more expense white ones, does that make any difference?
The difference is between health versus vanity. Tooth decay can lead to heart problems. So for each expense, ask yourself was this cost for my heart or is it for the way other people see me.

I was wondering if Medicaid cover cosmetic dental work(crowns,implant)?
I was wondering if Medicaid covering dental work and how long will take to get Medicaid?
Not only will Medicaid not cover cosmetic work, but most private insurance companies don’t, either. With the popularity of tooth whitening, everyone and their cousin is looking to get whitening covered by insurance, but just like implants or veneers, it’s generally not covered. This is due in part to the fact that cosmetic surgery is never necessary. (For example- instead of an implant, you could get a bridge or a partial denture).
As for crowns, those are often covered by Medicaid, provided it’s an anterior (front) tooth, and not a molar.

Depends entirely on the extent of your problem. If you are young (in your twenties or below) a brace can sometimes sort this the best.
If oldr, you might need some extensive work, and it can be costly. But well worth it for the confidence you will feel.
Best idea is to take the plunge and go and get advice from a good dentist.
Most dentists will do cosmetic work. You could contact The British Dental Association for advice on how to find the best dentist for you.
