I just got my two front teeth bonded today. Any advice on maintaining the bonding?

Or any opinions/ personal experiences. I got the bonding because my teeth were starting to look translucent- probably due to grinding my teeth in my sleep according to the dentist.

It hurts a little now, but the dentist said that it would for a few days.

How much stronger are my teeth now and what’s the risk of bonding chipping?

Your teeth are a lot stronger now so when you do start to grind your not grinding on your teeth your grinding on the filling material. There’s always going to be a risk of the bonding chipping. You might be feeling some sensitivity for a few days because its a new filling. I would just brush twice a day and floss and they should last you for years.

How long does teeth bonding last?

I have braces and when I get them off later I want to get my two front teeth bonded because they’re not symmetrical :( Yeah, it sucks for me. But I know bonding is not as expensive as getting veneers, but I just want to know how long it will last?

Like, will it last for the rest of my life, or a year? What’s the average time frame?

it is not a permanent procedure and your dentist will not be able to give you an exact time frame of how long it should last.

i have seen bonding last 1 week or 20 years. it all depends on the individual. some people are tougher on their front teeth that others. you will have to be very careful with biting things off with them.

is one tooth longer than the other one? because some times your dentist can shorten the longer one a bit to match the other one.

my suggestion would be to go in for a consultation and see what your options are.

good luck!

Can teeth bonding work for 5mm front teeth gap?

Would you recommend bonding to close a 5 mm front teeth gap? I know braces are better, but can’t afford them right now, till about a year, and I want to get rid of this gap in the meanwhile. Would a bonding procedure work for a gap that size, or even close it a lil? Or is there another way to close this gap that’s else pricey?…besides braces and bonding? Any advantages or disadvantages? I also have that piece of skin (the frenum) in the middle of the gap.

it is the low attachment of the frenum that caused the gap. bonding to reduce the gap will do nicely. i would not recommend totally closing a gap as big as that through bonding or veneers because those teeth will look abnormally large.

the ideal thing to do is surgically alter the attachment of the frenum before braces are done. since its just a year before you can afford braces, why not wait. time passes by quickly and before you know it a year has passed. why not put aside the several hundred dollars budget for bonding to fund the cost of braces later on?

what is the best composite for bonding teeth?

I am considering having my teeth bonded . Are there different materials to do the procedure? If so, which is the best , more durable one?
How long does bonding last? Many thanks to all

Porcelain will last the longest but they are considered veneers and not bonds. Almost all of the materials used for bonding are very good and they are always improving the material However due to the nature of the beast, they are all plastic resins and will stain and wear more than porcelain over time. My guess is that the average life span of a bond is 6-7 years. I’ve seen some last less and some last a lot longer Good luck
